Rahul, Porel 50s And Mukesh’s Four-Fer Sinks LSG

Delhi Capitals thumped hosts LSG by eight wickets in Lucknow in match number 40 of the IPL 2025 season. Batting first, the LSG franchise accrued 159-6 from 20 overs, with opening batter Aiden Markram punching out a swift 33-ball 52 in the innings. Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni also chipped in with valuable contributions, while Capitals’ paceman Mukesh Kumar ran through the LSG top-order with figures of 4-33.

Chasing 160, Abishek Porel bludgeoned a sublime 36-ball 51 for the Capitals at the top of the order. Prolific number three KL Rahul composed 57 unbeaten runs from 42 balls to steer Delhi Capitals to a comfortable win in just 17.5 overs.

KL Rahul Becomes Fastest To 5,000 IPL Runs

KL Rahul completed 5,000 runs in his IPL career through the course of his match-winning knock against LSG at the Ekana Stadium. The cricketer composed 57* runs from 42 balls with three boundaries and three sixes to steer Capitals to a comfortable eight-wicket win. Notably, KL Rahul also became the fastest player in IPL history to bring up 5,000 runs, reaching the landmark figure in just 130 innings. The elegant Indian batter surpassed the previous record held by explosive Australian opener David Warner, who achieved the feat in 135 innings.

Curtis Campher Joins Multan Sultans As Replacement

Ireland all-rounder Curtis Campher has joined the Multan Sultans franchise for the PSL 2025 season as a replacement for West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie. The Sultans franchise has stated that Motie had to return back to Guyana to “attend a domestic matter”.

Born in Johannesburg, Campher has played 96 T20 matches to date, including 61 international matches for Ireland. The 26-year-old has so far tallied 1,433 runs at an average of 21.07 with a strike rate of 134.17. In 81 innings, the right-arm fast bowler has also picked up 67 wickets and has maintained an economy rate of 8.64.

Shanto’s 60* Extends Bangladesh Lead

Bangladesh assumed lead over Zimbabwe on Day 3 of the series-opening Sylhet Test, and extended it up to 112 runs by stumps. Resuming the innings at 57-1 with Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mominul Haque at the crease, both cricketers were dismissed for 33 and 47 respectively by Blessing Muzarabani and Victor Nyauchi (1-28). Muzarabani picked up one more wicket in the form of senior man Mushfiqur Rahim to finish the day with figures of 3-51.

For Bangladesh, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led from the front with a sublime 60* as the hosts reached 194-4 on a rain-curtailed day. Shanto will now resume Bangladesh’s second innings on Day 4 alongside fellow unbeaten batter Jaker Ali (21*).

Charith Asalanka Ends First-Class Century Drought

Sri Lankan limited-overs captain Charith Asalanka recorded his third first-class century, doing so against Galle in match number nine of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2025 season. Leading Colombo in Dambulla, Asalanka scored an unbeaten 142 from 193 balls with 17 boundaries and two sixes by stumps on Day 3. Notably, the innings marked his first century in first-class cricket after a gap of nine years, thus ending his red-ball century drought in nearly a decade.
