SRH Lose Four Wickets In Powerplay vs MI: What Is Their Lowest Total In IPL History?

On Wednesday, April 23, Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns against Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The visitors won the toss and opted to field first, asking Pat Cummins-led side to bat first.

The decision turned out to be gold as SRH, batting first, lost four wickets within the powerplay. At the time of writing this article, SRH are 20/4 and are headed towards registering their lowest total in IPL history. 

What Is SRH's Lowest Total In IPL History?

Interestingly, SRH's lowest IPL total came against Mumbai Indians in 2019 when the Men in Orange tumbled for just 96 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Notably, on April 6, 2019, the two teams locked horns, where MI, batting first, registered just 136/7 after 20 overs.

However, SRH collapsed for just 96 runs, which is their lowest total in IPL and also the lowest total at home. In that game, Alzarri Joseph had triggered the collapse as the West Indies' star took a six-wicket haul. 

SRH Struggle Against MI At Uppal Stadium

In the ongoing match, SRH lost four wickets early on. Firstly, Travis Head departed for a duck. Then Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitsh Reddy too returned to the pavilion on a single-digit score. 

It is not the first time that SRH have struggled against MI in this season as they tumbled for just 113 runs during MI vs SRH clash at the Wankhede Stadium, which is SRH's third lowest total in their career. Here is a list of SRH's five lowest total in IPL history.
