KL Rahul is a special player but often his talent gets neglected and overshadowed by other superstars in the team. However, in the clash against England at Headingley, the Karnataka batter showcased his Test batting skills as he notched up his 9th Test century to push the hosts on the backfoot.

KL Rahul goes past legendary Sunil Gavaskar

On a surface that became slightly tricky for batting in the second innings, KL Rahul batted with caution and slammed his third century on English soil. With that, he scripted history and became the Indian opener with most Test centuries in England (3).

Gavaskar had two centuries against England on their home soil as KL Rahul entered an elite list where he stands tall. His first Test century in England came at the Oval in 2018, and the second one came at Lord's in 2021. This century came under immense pressure as England had a slight upper hand after dismissing Shubman Gill and someone needed to hold the fort - which KL did to perfection.
