Indian players celebrating a wicket in the second T20I (Twitter)
The third and final T20I of India's tour to Ireland has been abandoned without a single ball being bowled. The famous Irish rains played spoilsport and kept its intensity going right throughout the afternoon. By the time, the rain stopped, the ground at Malahide had taken a heavy beating and match officials decided to call it a day.
So, the series has ended with India winning it by a 2-0 margin under the able and charismatic leadership of Jasprit Bumrah.
The first game also had big footmarks of rain on it. India just about managed to win that game by 2 runs on account of the DLS method. Indian did win comfortably in the second T20I, as rain stayed away but in this final game, it came out with its full zeal and just did not allow any chance of cricket to end the series on a rather pale note.
Talking about the Irish boys, they would be disappointed with their performance in this series, especially with the bat. They have the talent but it is high time, they bring consistency and more application to their game. For India, Ruturaj Gaikwad displayed his class with the bat and Sanju, Rinku were also brilliant in the second game.
The greatest positive for India though was seeing Jasprit Bumrah back to his best. He bowled with lot of fire and along with Prasidh Krishna, has made a strong comeback. The Indian team are heading to Sri Lanka now for the all-important Asia Cup and they will be upbeat about their chances with their two quality pacers showing their might in the Irish land.
