This is a historic moment for ISRO and the entire nation as it becomes the first country to successfully land on the south pole of the moon.

It is also historic considering the setback that ISRO suffered during the landing of Chandrayaan-2 in September 2019.

Overall, India has become the fourth nation to successfully land on the moon.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present at the live event via a video link from Johannesburg, South Africa.

The PM paid his tribute to the esteemed scientists in a heart-stirring speech.

''When we see such historic moments it makes us very proud. This is the dawn of new India."

Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Team, which is scheduled to play the 3rd T20I against Ireland on Wednesday evening, was also glued to the Tv from Dublin to witness the historic event.

The BCCI X account posted the pictures and video of the same.

Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, R Ashwin, Rohit Sharma too took to their X accounts to post their wishes for ISRO.
