In a significant turn of events, ICC has released the fixtures for the warm up games of the World Cup 2023. The much-awaited 50-over World Cup in India is set to start on October 5 and as is the common norm, all 10 teams will play two warm-up games heading into the marquee event.

The warm-up games will be played from 29th of September to October 3 at three venues - Guwahati, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram and will provide ample opportunities for all 10 teams to iron out their flaws ahead of the big event.

India will play its first warm up game against England on 30th of September at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati while their second game is against the Netherlands on 3rd of October at the beautiful Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

As far as Pakistan is concerned, they will play their warm up games against New Zealand and Australia.  Another interesting encounter will be between New Zealand and South Africa at Thiruvananthapuram and the performances in these warm up games can often provide important insights about the form and quality of the teams ahead of the main event.

The World Cup 2023 will be played completely in India across 10 venues in the country and we can expect quality action as England gear up to defend their title. The last time, India played the World Cup at home, they won it under the able leadership of MS Dhoni and this time around too, India are one of the favourites to lift the trophy.

Along with India and England, teams like Australia, Pakistan and South Africa are also quite strong units and things look set for an exciting World Cup with final to be played at 19th of November.
