The 52nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will see Rajasthan Royals (RR) crossing swords with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday, May 7.

The IPL 2023 points table clearly reflects the contrasting fortunes of Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, with the former doing well and occupying the third spot with five wins from 10 matches, while the latter have found it tough to get-going and sit at the bottom half with only three wins from nine matches.

Both teams will be looking to put their recent losses behind them and bounce back with a better performance in this game. On that note, let’s take a look at the predicted playing XI of both teams:

Rajasthan Royals

Openers

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler

Rajasthan Royals are expected to stick to their opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, despite the latter's lack of form in recent matches. Jaiswal, who had a disappointing outing in the previous game, will be keen to make a strong comeback.

Middle Overs

Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel

On paper, Rajasthan Royals have a strong middle-order comprising the likes of Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer. However, many of these players have struggled for form in recent matches. Samson, in particular, has been unable to convert his starts into big scores, while Hetmyer has also had a lean patch with the bat.

Bowlers

Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Adam Zampa, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal

Rajasthan Royals boast one of the best bowling attacks in the tournament, with Trent Boult leading the charge with his lethal new-ball spell. The spinners are also expected to play key roles, with Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal likely to be the game changers on a spin-friendly surface. Sandeep Sharma, on the other hand, has been brilliant in the death overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Openers

Mayank Agarwal, Abhishek Sharma

Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma are expected to open the inning for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming match. While Mayank Agarwal has been going through a rough patch, Abhishek Sharma has shown glimpses of his potential and can provide the team with a good start.

Middle Overs

Aiden Markram (c), Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Harry Brook, Abdul Samad

Sunrisers Hyderabad's middle order has been a cause of concern for the team in the tournament so far. While Heinrich Klaasen has been consistent with the bat, the other batters have failed to justify their talent. Their captain Aiden Markram has been inconsistent, Harry Brook has only had one notable innings, and Abdul Samad has struggled to finish games.

Bowlers

Marco Jansen, Mayank Markande, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kartik Tyagi, T Natarajan

Sunrisers Hyderabad has a potent bowling attack in Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Karthik Tyagi, and Marco Jansen. While Mayank has been in superb form with his spin bowling, Karthik Tyagi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also bowled well. However, T Natarajan has been struggling to find his rhythm.
