Reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT) welcome Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as both sides play out in Match No. 51 of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The encounter is scheduled for a doubleheader Super Sunday, May 07, 2023, at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 3.30 PM IST. Spin wizard Rashid Khan was at his absolute best as he picked up three wickets for just 14 runs in his four-over spell. His countryman Noor Ahmad took 2/25 (3) as RR got bundled out for just 118 in 17.5 overs. 

In reply, wicketkeeper batter Wriddhiman Saha struck an unbeaten 41 while his opening partner Shubman Gill amassed 36. Finally, Captain Hardik Pandya scored a quickfire 39* off 15 as GT chased down the target in just 13.5 overs with the loss of a solitary wicket.



LSG in IPL 2023

LSG have made a decent start to their current campaign as they have played ten games with five wins and four defeats. However, their last match was abandoned due to rain.

LSG last played against CSK in Match No. 45 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, which ended in no result due to rain. 

Super Kings' skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first. LSG's regular captain KL Rahul, who is now officially ruled out of the tournament, sat out that game due to injury. Youngster Ayush Badoni played a solid knock of 59* off 33 with no other player contributing as the visitors reached 125/7 in 19.2 overs before the heavens opened up. After a long delay, the match officially had no result.

Captain Hardik won the toss and elected to bat first. Saha racked up 47 off 37, while Hardik smashed 66 off 50 as the Titans reached 135/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis picked up two wickets each for the home side.

In reply, what looked like a chasable target, the hosts somehow managed to fall short. KL Rahul played a slow knock of 68 off 61, while Kyle Mayers and Krunal mustered 24 and 23 runs, respectively. But in the end, LSG got restricted to 128/7 as GT bowlers delivered solid economical spells. With this, the Titans won the contest by a 7-run margin.
