From Rohit Sharma to Virat Kohli, Here Are The Players With Most Ducks in IPL

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma continued his poor run in the IPL 2023, registering a two-ball duck in his side's ongoing group-stage fixture against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings. In this process, the veteran Indian batter became the player with the most number of ducks (16) in the history of the tournament. 

However, there are several high-profile names who have recorded ten or more number of ducks in the IPL. Here's the list of players with most ducks in IPL. 


1) Rohit Sharma: 16

Since joining Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma has taken the franchise to unprecedented heights, leading them to five IPL titles. However, the legendary Indian batter also holds the record for the most ducks (16) in the tournament, with the latest being the one he recorded against CSK today. 


2) Sunil Narine, Dinesh Karthik, Mandeep Singh: 15

The record for the second-most ducks (15) in the IPL is held by three players- Sunil Narine, Dinesh Karthik and Mandeep Singh. 

While Narine and Karthik are still vital cogs in KKR and RCB, respectively, Mandeep has been in and out of the playing XIs of several franchises he has represented over the years. 


3) Ambati Rayudu: 14

The record for the third-most ducks (14) in the IPL is held by Ambati Rayudu. After being released by Mumbai Indians, the experienced campaigner has been an integral member of Chennai Super Kings. 


4) Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Glenn Maxwell, Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey: 13

The record for the fourth-most ducks (13) in the IPL is held by six players: Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, Glenn Maxwell, Parthiv Patel, Ajinkya Rahane and Manish Pandey. While Harbhajan and Parthiv have retired, the other players are still active in the league.


5) Gautam Gambhir, Rashid Khan: 12

The record for the fifth-most ducks (12) in the IPL is held by two players: Gautam Gambhir and Rashid Khan. Gambhir, who led KKR to two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014, currently mentors LSG, while Rashid spearheads Gujarat Titans' spin attack. 


6) Virat Kohli, David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, AB de Villiers, Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra: 10

The record for the sixth-most ducks (10) in the IPL is held by seven players: Virat Kohli, David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan, AB de Villiers, Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra. While De Villiers has retired, the other players are still active in the tournament.
