IND-W vs SL-W 3rd T20I preview [Source: @BCCIWomen/x.com]
India Women (IND-W) and Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) will lock horns in the third T20I of their five-match series on Friday, December 26 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The IND-W vs SL-W 3rd T20I will get underway at 7:00 PM IST.
India Women
India Women won the second T20I by seven wickets, producing another clinical performance while chasing. After opting to bowl first, they restricted Sri Lanka Women to 128/9. Left-arm spinners Vaishnavi Sharma and Shree Charani picked up two wickets apiece while Sneh Rana and Kranti Gaud chipped in with one each.
With the bat, Shafali Verma was at her destructive best as she smashed an unbeaten 69 off just 34 balls to comfortably see India home. Smriti Mandhana (14), Jemimah Rodrigues (26) and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (10) got starts but failed to convert them into substantial scores. India will be keen to build on this momentum, seal the series early and continue their dominance.
Sri Lanka Women
Sri Lanka Women’s batting has been a major concern in the series so far. In the previous match, Chamari Athapaththu (31), Hasini Perera (22), Harshitha Samarawickrama (33), and Kavisha Dilhari (14) all got starts but failed to convert them into big scores, which once again hurt their chances of posting a competitive total.
With the ball, new-ball bowlers Malki Madara and Kawya Kavindi picked up a wicket each but proved expensive. Inoka Ranaweera went wicketless and conceded runs at an economy of 15.5 in her two overs while Chamari was also taken apart, conceding 17 runs in her lone over. Sri Lanka will need a strong collective performance if they are to stay alive in the series.
