A much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan in the Super Four round of the Asia Cup 2023 is finally set to resume on a reserve day at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. While the relentless rain delayed the start of the match, it will eventually begin at 4:40 PM IST without any over reductions.

Earlier in the match, India made an excellent start against Pakistan on Sunday (September 10), as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made the star Pakistani pace trio look helpless, racing to 121 without losing a wicket in under 100 deliveries.

Pakistan came back after that, dismissing two well-set batters in successive overs to change the momentum. Yet, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul still in the middle, the Men in Blue were in control, batting on 147/2 in 24.1 overs before the rain arrived and did not allow any further play until the day end.

Shadab Khan and Shaheen Afridi took the wickets for Pakistan, although both of them were punished by confident Indian openers. The only bowler who bowled with impeccable control was Naseem Shah, who conceded 23 runs in his first five overs.
