As per emerging reports, the much-awaited final of the Asia Cup 2023 will likely move out of Colombo amidst prevailing inclement weather conditions in the city. As reported by TimesNow, the final match of the tournament could possibly be hosted by the Pallekele international stadium in Kandy, as the weather forecast in Colombo doesn't look promising for September 17.

Notably, Pallekele international stadium in Kandy hosted three group stage matches, including the high-voltage India versus Pakistan face-off, earlier in the tournament. While the first game between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh concluded without any interruption, India's both games, against Pakistan and Nepal, were marred by rain.

The Indo-Pak clash was abandoned, while India's final group stage game against Nepal was a rain-curtailed affair, with the Men in Blue winning it by ten wickets in DLS method.

However, the weather conditions are worse in Colombo, as the India versus Pakistan game was moved to the reserve day owing to incessant downpour. Batting first, India were firmly placed on 147 for two in 24.1 overs when rain arrived at the venue, diminishing the possibility of any further play.

As a result, the match will restart at 3.00 PM IST today from where it concluded on Sunday. It will be a 50-over a side affair, with DLS coming to play in case rain plays spoilsport yet again.
