The highly-anticipated India versus Pakistan Asia Cup Super Four match has been significantly affected, with rain playing spoilsport at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Batting first, India raced to 147 runs in just 24.1 overs, riding on the fireworks from openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. However, as soon as both the players got out and KL Rahul joined Virat Kohli in the middle, rain interrupted the well-poised game.

After pouring down for a couple of hours, rain stopped and the groundsmen worked tirelessly to dry the outfield. However, unfortunately, when the match was finally set to restart at around 9.00 PM IST, rain returned to the venue, demolishing the chances of a resumption. As a result, the game moved to the reserve day and was about to start at 3.00 PM IST on Monday.

However, the weather in Colombo doesn't seem promising at the moment, as it has been raining cats and dogs there since morning. As per the latest visuals, it's pouring down quite heavily in Colombo, with the entire ground being under covers.

So, in all likelihood, we don't expect the game to resume on time, as it will need a significant time for the ground staff to dry the wet patches. Furthermore, the umpires will access the playing conditions before deciding the fate of this high-octane encounter.
