On September 11, New Zealand Cricket announced their ODI squad for the upcoming World Cup via their Twitter handle in the most unique manner possible. In the video, the family members of the players selected in the New Zealand ODI squad could be seen announcing the names of their loved ones.

The announcement of the New Zealand ODI World Cup squad by NZC received positive feedback from numerous cricket fans and Twitter users worldwide. People of all ages expressed their excitement by mentioning the names of their loved ones who made it into the team.

Additionally, the responses received on their Twitter handle suggest that fans are encouraging other cricket boards to adopt a similar approach when announcing their respective ODI squads.

After being away from a significant amount of cricketing action, Kane Williamson is all set to return as the ODI captain for the Blackcaps. Although he is still recovering from his knee injury, the Kiwi think tank remains confident that he will be match-fit by the time the World Cup kicks off.

With the bat, Williamson will be supported by his deputy Tom Latham along with Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Will Young, Daryl Mitchell, and Mark Chapman. All-rounders include seamer Jimmy Neesham and spinners Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra.

Santner is also expected to lead the spin attack along with Ish Sodhi. The pace attack featuring Boult, Southee, Matt Henry, and Lockie Ferguson looks formidable even in the absence of Adam Milne, who is suffering from a hamstring injury.
