IND vs NEP | Rain Returns Back To Stop India's Chase As Nepal Set A Target Of 231

The India-Nepal clash in Asia Cup 2023 is turning out to be quite an interesting affair. Nepal have posted 230 in the first innings and it is a competitive total on the pitch that has something for both pacers and spinners.  However, rain is back after just 13 balls and India's run chase has been halted with Rohit on 4 off 7 balls and Gill on 12 off 6 balls.

It has been a game where rain has been a constant companion, and there was a brief stop during Nepal’s innings too. However, no overs were lost at that time, and Nepal scored 230 before getting bowled out in the 49th over. In all probability, the overs will be reduced now, and India need to bat at least 20 overs to get a result in this game via the DLS method.

The rain is quite heavy, and the whole outfield has been covered. The drainage system is quite good at Pallekele, but the rain needs to stop or we might get another washout in this Asia Cup 2023. India will qualify for the Super Four if the game is called off, as they were handed one point when the game against Pakistan was abandoned.

Expected DLS total as per the overs:

45 Overs: 220
40 Overs: 207
30 Overs: 174
20 Overs: 130

Both teams though would be hoping that they get a sizeable game and the result of the game is decided on the basis of cricket played on the field. For Nepal, this is especially, a great opportunity to show their mettle against a top team like India and they would be itching to get back on the field and make their passionate fans proud.
