The second Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur kicked off under the looming threat of rain. India, having dominated the first Test in Chennai with a 280-run victory and entered the match brimming with confidence.

But the weather of Day 1 is the primary concern, with intermittent showers disrupting proceedings. The toss was delayed by nearly 30 minutes earlier due to a wet outfield. Still, once it commenced, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opted to field first, given the overcast conditions that seemed favourable for the bowlers.

Will Rain Impact IND vs BAN 2nd Test Match Day 1?

Bangladesh began their innings cautiously, but the weather was a significant factor. Showers arrived and forced the ground staff to cover both the pitch and outfield before lunch on Day 1. With thunderstorms forecast for later in the day, there are chances that the match will be significantly interrupted.

The weather forecast for the next two days also doesn't offer much respite. Day 2 could see cloudy skies with more rain interruptions, while Day 3, is predicted to begin with early morning showers followed by a mostly overcast day.

The unpredictable nature of the weather could make it tough for both teams, particularly Bangladesh, who are trying to avoid another heavy defeat. However, the good news is that the final two days of the Test, Day 4 and Day 5, are expected to be clear, allowing for uninterrupted play.
