The second and final Test match between India and Bangladesh is underway at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. It is after three years that the stadium will host a Test match.  India won the toss and opted to field first, as the track is said to be slower and lower than Chennai.

Meanwhile, Indian Express reported that the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has hired langurs with their handlers to scare away monkeys from the stadiums.  Several instances have been recorded of monkeys troubling the spectators by stealing food or personal belongings.

In addition to the spectators, the monkeys have become a nuisance for the cameramen and broadcasting team at the Green Park Stadium, who are seated at elevated stands on the ground, where monkeys attack the most.

Venue director Sanjay Kapoor remarked that the broadcast camera persons in the stands are at the highest risk of monkeys stealing their snacks and drinks. "To avoid the terror of monkeys, we have langurs to take care of them," Kapoor said.

Other than langur and record the match was covered with black cloth at the back and on either side to reduce the chances of monkeys getting access to eatables. It is not the first time a cricket board has hired langurs and their handlers to scare away monkeys and keep them away from stadium premises.

Stand C Closed For Fans At Green Park Stadium

Ahead of the start of the second Test, Green Park was reportedly not fully fit to host India and Bangladesh. The engineers deemed Stand C dangerous and stated that it wouldn't be able to withstand 50 people dancing and cheering.

In the latest developments, it is reported that UPCA has taken the PWD engineers' request seriously and closed the stand, considering fans' safety. Further, the floodlights are also faulty as eight bulbs are not functioning.
