Match 43 of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, will be played between two contrasting sides, Australia and Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune tomorrow.

While Australia have sealed their place in the semi-final, and will face off against South Africa on November 16, Bangladesh have been knocked out of the competition following an abysmal, and are battling to earn qualification for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

AUS vs BAN: Australia's final chance to fine-tune XI before semi-finals

After consecutive defeats, Australia, who were sidelined by many, have risen and displayed great tenacity and mental fortitude to qualify for the semi-finals, winning as many as six games on the trot.

Led by Pat Cummins, Australia have slowly managed to find their rhythm with batters, David Warner, and Mitchell Marsh leading the way. Batter Steve Smith, who has been inconsistent, will most likely play against Bangladesh and get rid of all cobwebs. The inclusion of Travis Head has made the batting more solid, which is over-run by all-rounders.

The form of Glenn Maxwell is encouraging, who singlehandedly took Australia over the line against Afghanistan and will again be crucial for their title hopes. However, quality spin bowling remains a concern, which could be tested against Bangladesh.

Adam Zampa has led the bowling magnificently and has been supported ably by Josh Hazlewood. Mitchell Starc's form is a massive concern with the tournament nearing the business end.

Bangladesh on the other hand, have failed to perform anywhere near their potential and looked lost all across the tournament. Apart from the experienced Mahmudullah, no other player young or veteran has managed to stand out and take charge, even skipper Shakib Al Hasan looked like a shadow of himself with both ball and ball.

With Hasan's unavailability, Bangladesh looks even more paper-thin in bowling, who have leaked run by the bucketful. Still have a chance an outside chance to qualify for the ICC Champions Trophy 2023, the Bangla Tigers would like to end the tournament on a high and bring some smiles back to their fans' faces.

Australia, undoubtedly, looks the favourite of the two to clinch the contest and gain momentum heading into the knockouts, given their overall composition and form of crucial players.
