New Zealand's rising young allrounder Rachin Ravindra has indicated he wishes to play for the mighty popular Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the coming future.

Ravindra, whose magnificent campaign at the ICC World Cup 2023 has raised speculations of the bright Kiwi talent emerging as the next millionaire at an IPL auction, hinted he wants to represent RCB and turn up at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

The promising cricketer dropped the hint after New Zealand's latest triumph of the marquee 50-over World Cup against Sri Lanka. Hammering a top-order cameo of 42 off 34 deliveries in BlackCaps' comprehensive victory versus the Lankan Lions in Bangalore on Thursday (November 9), the left-hander, who is an effective utility left-arm spinner as well, says he would love to comeback to the Chinnaswamy.

Rachin Ravindra Wishes To Play For RCB?

Ravindra, who made a promising Test debut against India in Kanpur in November 2021, will be returning to India next year for a three-Test tour of the country in October-November. However, there is a bright possibility of him making the India trip for IPL 2024 after raising his stocks multifold in a bumper World Cup campaign.

Speaking to Star Sports after the completion of New Zealand's five-wicket victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Ravindra said he would love to return to the famous ground regularly in the years to follow.

The cricketer with Indian roots, who is affectionately named after two legends of Indian cricket - Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid - indicated he wants to represent Faf du Plessis-led RCB in IPL 2024.

"Bengaluru and Chinnaswamy Stadium is very close to my heart, I hope I get to play a bit of more cricket here in future (smiles)," the 23-year-old said in a post-match show when asked to speak about the ground, with a grin towards the end hinting towards his RCB preference for the coming IPL 2024 players auction.
