[Watch] Temba Bavuma ‘Displeased’ With Phehlukwayo After ‘Bizarre’ Run-Out Miss

Temba Bavuma could not control his frustration after watching Andile Phehlukwayo miss a simple run-out opportunity on Friday (November 10) during South Africa’s World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. 

The incident happened during the 23rd over of Afghanistan’s innings when Phehlukwayo bowled a back-of-a-length delivery to Azmatullah Omarzai, who lifted over the field to get a four.

However, Temba Bavuma chased the ball superbly and threw straight to Phehlukwayo at the non-strikers’ end. In the meantime, confusion while running between the wickets gave the South Africans a simple chance for a wicket out of nowhere.

But Phehlukwayo missed it horribly, as he had plenty of time to walk towards the stumps to dislodge the bail. He did the opposite and went for an underarm throw, only to see it miss altogether in an embarrassing manner.

Bavuma was in complete disbelief, wondering how could he miss that, while Phehlukwayo had hands on his head after the missed opportunity.
