History Made! DC Register Their Highest IPL Total Against Hapless MI Bowling Attack

In IPL 2024, batters are dominating bowlers with a barrage of sixes and fours, setting and breaking records with ease. In a scorching afternoon showdown in Delhi, the home team, Delhi Capitals (DC), etched their name in history against the Mumbai Indians (MI) by achieving their highest-ever total in the league. Opting to bat first, the Capitals amassed a formidable 257 runs, surpassing their previous record of 231.

This remarkable milestone was reached during the ongoing match between DC and MI, marking the first instance of DC surpassing the 250-run mark in IPL history and the eighth time this season.

DC finishes on 257, setting a formidable target for MI. Jake Fraser-McGurk displayed another remarkable onslaught, scoring runs effortlessly in the Powerplay. He scored yet another rapid half-century in just 15 balls, while Abishek Porel played a supporting role. 

Fraser-McGurk's aggressive innings included 11 fours and 6 sixes, setting the tone for DC's innings as the openers amassed 114 runs before Piyush Chawla dismissed him in the 8th over.

Porel, who played the role of anchor, was later dismissed by Mohammad Nabi. Shai Hope continued the onslaught with a series of sixes before departing. 

Towards the end, Tristan Stubbs accelerated the scoring further. DC put up a solid batting performance overall, giving themselves a good chance to win this game.
