Cricket fields never fail to amaze with quality batting and brilliant bowling, but sometimes, interruptions out of nowhere take the spotlight as well. A similar thing happened on Saturday afternoon during Match 43 of IPL 2024 when Delhi Capitals took on Mumbai Indians at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

The incident occured when Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan came to chase a monumental target of 258 against Rishabh Pant and his boys. During the very first over when debutant Lizaad Williams was bowling, a kite came out of nowhere to stop the play.

Rohit picked it up and gave it to Rishabh Pant, who kept the trend going by giving it the leg umpire.

Earlier in the game, Delhi closed on 257/4, with Jake Fraser-McGurk top-scoring with a stupendous 27-ball 84. Tristan Stubbs, Shai Hope, and Pant chipped in with handy contributions as well, taking their side past the 250-run mark with ease.

At the time of writing this, Mumbai are 15/0 after 1.1 overs, with Rohit batting on 7* while Ishan is on 1*. They need to keep scoring at high rate in order to stay in the hunt of an impossible task.
