Lizaad Williams made his much-awaited IPL debut against Mumbai Indians in the 43rd match of IPL 2024. He was handed the first over as well but before he could deliver his maiden ball, he slipped awkwardly.
The DC bowler was in a bit of a pain but thankfully for DC, it was not that serious and after getting some work done on his shoe, he was ready again to start the proceedings with the ball. Williams notched up good pace in that over as well, clocking late 140s and even finding a top edge off the bat of Rohit Sharma was a sharp bouncer.

However, the effect of fall was seen in his line and length and Williams gave away quite a few extras which included five wides and a no ball. Overall, 14 runs came in the first over and DC would be hoping that he gets it right in his next three overs against a belligerent MI batting line-up.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals scored 257 while batting first on a flat deck at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with Jake Fraser-McGurk top scoring with 84 off just 27 balls.
