Tristan Stubbs is one of the most highly rated young batter in world cricket but could not get going in IPL when he played for MI in the 2022 and 2023 season. However, for DC in 2024 season, he has really come into his own and is playing the role of finisher with perfection. In the 43rd match of IPL 2024, he took apart Luke Wood with 26 runs in a single over, leaving all MI players in disarray.

It was the 18th over of the match and Luke Wood who had already given away 42 runs in the third over was put in a tough situation again. Stubbs was in the mood to try something different and scooped the first ball over fine leg for a boundary. 

The second ball was again a scoop shot while the third one was an audacious reverse-scoop for a six. The fourth ball was again reverse-scopped for a boundary while the fifth ball was pulled away hard towards the square leg fence.

The final ball was again a short one and it was again brutally put away towards the boundary line making it a 26-run over. DC eventually ended up with 257 in their allotted 20 overs, putting Hardik Pandya and co. right on backfoot at the halfway mark.
