Australia’s hard-hitting radical Glenn Maxwell tonked 120 unbeaten runs against West Indies from just 55 balls in the second T20I of their three-match series. The innings, marking his fifth T20I century, catapulted Australia to a monumental 241-4 by the end of their 20 overs.

Remarkably, Maxwell also managed to level up with Indian captain Rohit Sharma through the course of his record-shattering knock.

Glenn Maxwell brought out all the shots from his armory, including the all-audacious switch-hit, to hit a blazing century against West Indies at the Adelaide Oval. Making his way to the crease at the brink of the opening powerplay, the 35-year-old crashed 12 boundaries and eight sixes in his 55-ball unbeaten knock to make 120 runs.

Moreover, he added more than 100 runs to the team’s total in just the final six overs of the innings during his all-out assault on West Indies alongside Tim David.

Maxwell’s thunderous effort helped him tally his fifth T20I ton, thus bringing him on levelling terms with Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma. The ‘Men in Blue’ skipper slapped his respective fifth T20I century back in January this year during his run-fest against Afghanistan in Bengaluru.

While Rohit Sharma has produced five T20I centuries from 151 matches for Team India to date, Glenn Maxwell equaled the effort from just 139 outings, and while batting in the middle-order as opposed to Sharma’s opening slot.
