Australia’s destructive hitter, Glenn Maxwell showed no-mercy to West Indies bowlers in the second T20 international on Sunday. The 35-year-old produced an exhibition of sixes at Adelaide Oval and notched his fifth century in T20 internationals off just 50 deliveries. 

The entertainer from Australia put on a show with the bat and took the game away completely from the visitors. He scored 4 runs in his first six deliveries before get going with a six on the seventh ball. 

After Australia had lost three wickets inside the first seven overs, Glenn Maxwell turned the momentum by smashing 18 runs off Rovman Powell in the 11th over of the innings. On the second ball of the 12th over, the Australian batter smashed the biggest six of his innings. 

Alzarri Joseph bowled a length delivery right in the slot and Maxwell was in no mood to miss out. The right-hander hit the delivery over deep mid-wicket for a huge maximum that went for 109 meters. 


Maxwell continued to destroy the West Indies bowlers, hitting shots all around the ground. He hit as many as 12 fours and 8 sixes en route to a sensational unbeaten knock of 120 runs in 55 deliveries. He played the memorable knock at an astounding strike rate of 218.18. 

Courtesy of that knock, Australia posted a mammoth total of 241 runs on the board at the end of the first innings. 


Glenn Maxwell equals Rohit Sharma’s record for most centuries in the T20 international 

After scoring a ton against West Indies on Sunday, Glenn Maxwell equaled Rohit Sharma’s record for most centuries by a batsman in T20 internationals. 

During the innings, he also became only the third Australian batsman to score 9500 runs in T20 cricket. Maxwell is now the third-highest run-getter for Australia in T20 internationals. He is only behind the likes of Aaron Finch (3120) and David Warner (2986) in the list.
