Indian captain Rohit Sharma has extended his best wishes for the Under-19 team ahead of their Under-19 World Cup final against Australia. The senior cricketer took to X (formerly Twitter) just moments before the commencement of the title clash to express his regards for Uday Saharan and co.

Sharma himself is currently leading the senior Indian team in their home Test series against the visiting Englishmen.

Rohit Sharma wishes U19 Indian team for final

Indian captain Rohit Sharma, no stranger to facing Australia in ICC finals, has shared an uplifting message for the Indian Under-19 team ahead of the Under-19 World Cup 2024 final at Benoni’s Willowmoore Park. The cricketer took to the microblogging site and wrote:

“Go well, boys! 🇮🇳💪”

Under the leadership of Uday Saharan, India Under-19 topped the Group A and Super Sixes points table before knocking out hosts South Africa out of the tournament in the semifinals.

Chasing their sixth World Cup title, the ‘Boys in Blue’ took the field against their Australian counterparts on February 11 at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni. Prior to the match, captain Saharan lost the toss and his team was put into field first.

Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, recently led the senior Indian team to an emphatic 106-run win in the second Test of their five-match series against England at Vizag. The result helped Team India bring their series to level terms after they slumped to a 28-run defeat at Hyderabad in late-January.

Rohit Sharma and co. will now face England in the third Test at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The much-awaited contest will be staged between February 15 and February 19.
