Mohammed Siraj was seen getting royal treatment in the Indian dressing room after bowling a six-over spell in the intense heat and humidity of Delhi during the fourth day of the second Test match against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 13, 2025. The temperature may have dropped in Delhi in recent days, but the humidity remained unbearable on Monday for the players.

Siraj get 'king like' treatment

After the tough spell in the second session, Siraj returned to the dugout visibly exhausted and collapsed onto the seat, prompting immediate medical attention from the support staff.

The incident occurred after the 94th over of West Indies’ second innings, where Siraj gave it his all in a fiery post-lunch spell. As he walked off, the team physio quickly placed ice packs on his head and face to help cool him down, while another member of the medical team was seen massaging his feet.

However, in this match, Siraj became the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket in 2025. During the match, he overtook Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani. Siraj now has 37 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 26.91 and an economy rate of 3.79. On the other hand, Muzarabani has 36 wickets in 9 matches at an average of 28.63.

West Indies fight back before collapse

Earlier in the day, WI resumed their innings strongly, with overnight batters John Campbell and Shai Hope continuing their solid partnership. Campbell moved from 87 to score his maiden, becoming the first Windies opener to hit a century in Tests since March 2023. Hope followed with a century of his own as the visitors took the lead and put pressure on India.

India enforced the follow-on on Day 3 after bowling WI out for 248 in response to their own massive total of 518/5 declared. However, the pitch slowed down and allowed batters to score more freely.
