In a significant development, the International Cricket Council (ICC), on Wednesday, updated the men's player rankings. Indian players, who performed admirably in the first Test against the West Indies, witnessed notable progress across all fronts. 

Siraj, Jadeja, KL, Kuldeep make notable gains in ICC rankings

Mohammed Siraj was one of India's most prolific performers in the first Test against West Indies in Ahmedabad. The right-arm speedster scalped seven wickets across two innings combined, playing a pivotal role in India's remarkable victory. The Hyderabad pacer's clinical returns helped him earn crucial rating points and jump three spots to the 12th in Test bowler rankings. 

Meanwhile, KL Rahul, who slammed a glorious century in the Ahmedabad Test, moved four places up to the 35th spot. Opening the batting, Rahul slammed 100 runs, setting the tone for a massive first innings total. 

On a similar note, Kuldeep Yadav has progressed seven places to the 21st after scalping four wickets across two innings of the first Test. Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 104 runs and bagged four wickets in the second innings, has received his career-best rating on the batters' list. 

Other developments in ICC rankings

Among other players, Washington Sundar has moved four places up to the 11th in allrounders' category. Australian captain Mitchell Marsh, who oozed his class in the New Zealand series, has gained 13 places to 10th spot in the T20I batters' rankings. New Zealand opener Tim Robinson has jumped 58 places to the 22nd, with Bangladesh's Saif Hassan gaining 17 spots to the 18th on the batters' rankings. 

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan has gained six places to finish the week as the second-ranked T20I bowler. Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Josh Hazlewood have also risen to the 17th, 23rd and 13th spots, respectively.
