Pakistan and South Africa are up against each other in the two-match Test series. The first Test is being played in Lahore, and after a good batting performance, Pakistan are doing well with the ball as well.
The pitch is helping spinners, and after scoring 378 with the bat after winning the toss, Pakistan are attacking with their two premier spinners - Noman Ali and Sajid Khan. Rickelton scored 71, and now Tony de Zorzi has taken over the responsibility for the Proteas. However, Dewald Brevis bagged a golden duck, and it turned out to be a big disappointment for many fans.
Dewald Brevis disappoints in whites vs Pakistan
This is Dewald Brevis' third Test match, and after a great performance in white-ball cricket, he was expected to do well in whites too. He started off with a fifty in Test cricket, too, against Zimbabwe, but Sajid Khan got the better of him on the very first ball in Lahore. It was a soft dismissal for the right-handed batter.
Sajid Ali bowled it touch shorter, turning into the Dewald Brevis. The youngster went back and tried to work it towards the leg side, but played it with hard hands and ended up handing an easy catch to Pakistan captain, Shan Masood.
South Africa collapse after decent start with bat
It was a big wicket for Pakistan, as Dewald Brevis can take the game away from the opposition if he finds his groove. Sajid Khan, naturally, was pumped up and gave an angry send-off to Dewald Brevis. The 22-year-old was the fifth wicket to go down for the Proteas at a score of 193, and soon Kyle Verrreynne also lost his wicket.
Thus, from 174-2, South Africa collapsed to 200 for six and now need their lower order to show application against Pakistan spinners. So far, Noman Ali has bagged four wickets, and he, along with Sajid Khan, has bowled the maximum overs.
