England Women are on the cusp of a series victory, but their first ODI win in Derby highlighted some areas for improvement. The second-ranked ODI team in the world managed to post a modest total of 243/9, with all top-order batters making starts but none surpassing 50 runs.

Despite good starts from all six of their batters in the series opener, none were able to convert these into a big one. This need for conversion will likely be a key focus for the home side's batting order in the third ODI.

Their bowling effort was a well-rounded performance, with four bowlers sharing nine wickets. Left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who took three wickets in the first ODI, will once again be a significant threat on the pitch. Additionally, Alice Capsey, Lauren Bell, and Charlotte Dean are bowlers to watch out for in this game.

Pakistan Women

The visiting Pakistan team faces a must-win situation in this game. Although they can't win the series, they can still draw it with a victory here.

Their batting lineup struggled in the first game, failing to chase a modest total. In the rain-abandoned second ODI, they showed some promise by scoring 29 without loss inside seven overs, which should give them some confidence.

For Pakistan to gain the upper hand, Sadaf Shamas and Sidra Amin will need to contribute significantly with the bat. In the first ODI, Pakistan's bowlers performed well, with Nida Dar, Nashra Sandhu, Umm-e-Hani, and Aliya Riaz delivering strong performances.

However, the opening bowling partnership of Fatima Sana and Diana Baig was costly. Pakistan will look to tighten their bowling in the early overs with the new ball in this crucial third ODI match.

This venue is known for its bowler-friendly conditions. Seamers can take advantage of early movement with the new ball. However, the small dimensions of the ground can also benefit batters who apply themselves well. The average first-innings score in women's ODIs here is just 187. The last three first-innings scores have been 133, 258, and 259, suggesting that another low-scoring match could be on the cards.
