Whenever a batsman gets dismissed by an unplayable delivery from a spinner, the first name that pops up in everyone's mind is Shane Warne. Everyone saw what the legendary leg spinner did to Mike Gatting at Old Trafford way back in 1993, which was later termed the 'ball of the century.'

Nathan Lyon, Warne's successor for Australia who legitimately kept the legacy intact, bowled a beauty of a delivery on Friday while playing for Lancashire in the County Championship Division One against Warwickshire. Interestingly, this ball took place at Manchester's Old Trafford as well.

Warwickshire's skipper Alex Davies, who made an unbeaten 127 in the first innings, was Lyon's victim. Bowling from over the wicket, Lyon bowled an off-spin which pitched at good length. Davies, coming on the front foot, tried to drive it through extra cover. However, he was completely beaten by the turn of the delivery, which went through the gate before hitting the leg stump.

No wonder Davies was completely floored because of the unexpected turn before watching it rattle the stumps. It was very similar to how Gatting, one of the very best at that point, was bamboozled by Warne's vicious turn.
