KKR beat CSK in IPL 2025 [Source: @KKRiders/X.com]
In a one-sided contest, KKR beat CSK by 8 wickets to seal a commanding victory. Chennai completely collapsed batting first. No significant partnership and intent restricted them to 103 runs. The chase was comparatively a cakewalk for KKR as they wrapped up the chase in 10.1 overs to dominate Chepauk.
Here's how CSK vs KKR panned out in Chennai:
Ruturaj Less CSK Flatter In First Inning; Touches New Low
After losing the last 4 games while chasing, CSK got to bat first against KKR at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. However, KKR bowlers had the upper hand. Moeen Ali drew first blood by bowling a floated delivery and Conway attempted a reverse sweep.
The ball struck him in front, and although the review showed it just clipping the leg stump, the umpire’s call stood and Conway walked back with just 12 runs.

With pressure building, Rachin Ravindra attempted to break the shackles by attacking Harshit Rana but only managed a leading edge. Ajinkya Rahane, at extra cover, settled under the ball and completed a safe catch, forcing Ravindra to walk back with a scratchy 4 off 9.
CSK Bowled Out For 103 Runs
CSK’s middle order collapsed like a house of cards. Sunil Narine cleaned by Rahul Tripathi on 16 whereas Vijay Shankar, batting at 29 was undone by Varun Chakravarthy.
Ravindra Jadeja, Chennai’s last hope, was sent back on a duck by Narine. Bowling from around the wicket, Narine got a ball to turn away just enough to find the edge of Jadeja's bat. With a slip in place, Quinton de Kock made no mistake, grabbing the sharp catch.

MS Dhoni, the new captain, also couldn’t do much damage, getting dismissed on 1 off 4 by Narine as the spinner claimed his 3rd wicket of the day. While CSK tried to salvage damage by introducing Deepak Hooda as an impact player, nothing went right for them. After Shivam Dube’s late 31*off 29 balls, CSK posted a modest total of 103 runs.
Pack Up In 10 Overs As KKR Seal Easy Win
The 103 runs total was nowhere close to where CSK would have liked to be. Moreover, beaming with confidence, KKR openers Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine came out all guns blazing. They hit Khaleel Ahmed for 15 runs before Anshul Kamboj got rid of de Kock. A length ball nipped in after pitching and the batter missed while playing across the line to see his stumps shattered.

While de Kock departed on 23 off 16, Narine switched gears to slam 44 off just 18 deliveries, including 2 fours and 5 sixes. Though Noor Ahmad bowled him in 8th over, the match was over. Rinku smashed a big six against Jadeja in 11th over to complete a dominant chase and steer KKR to a commanding 8-wicket victory at CSK's fortress, Chepauk.
