Another Indian Premier League match and another crushing defeat for the MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings. They came into the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders with 4 defeats in the season, and the Ajinkya Rahane led side inflicted another heavy loss to pile on more misery for the former champions.

Put into bat by Rahane, CSK lost wickets at regular intervals as none of the batters stood tall and they could only post 103/9. • They have already won 1 game, and if they can turn the tides and win 7 out of 8, then at the end of the league stage, the team will have 8 victories and 16 points.
• In IPL, 16 points generally means the team is more than secured to reach the playoffs. However, if two teams are stuck at 16 points, then the net run-rate will come into play and CSK have a poor net run-rate as of yet.
• If they win 6 more games, they'll be stranded at 14 points which might not be enough to reach the next round.
