Controversy Before CSK vs LSG Clash! Chennai Flags Stopped Outside Ekana Stadium

On Monday, April 14, Lucknow Super Giants locked horns against Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The fans turned up in thousands to watch MS Dhoni's side lock horns against Rishabh Pant's side. Despite it being LSG's home ground, it was a sea of yellow at the Ekana Stadium as CSK fans turned up in big numbers to watch Thala play. 

It is not an unusual sight of Chennai Super Kings getting home-like support in away games, but a video has gone viral on the internet where a CSK fan was stopped from taking CSK flags inside the stadium. Watch the incident here. 

Why The Controversy?

Earlier in the IPL, KKR fans had complained that Wankhede management didn't allow their flags inside the stadium. However, the issue is different from that case to the present one. Notably, IPL have banned flag with sticks within the stadium because of it being a potential harmful item.

However, there is no ban of flags without sticks and in the video that has been doing rounds on the internet,  the guard snatched a normal flag from the fan.
