In the crucial Super Eights encounter between West Indies and England at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first.

Why Brandon King Walked Off The Field?

West Indies openers Brandon King and Johnson Charles had a promising start, as they worked to build the momentum on a batting-friendly track.

However, an unfortunate incident occurred during the 4th over of the West Indies innings. While driving the ball, King appeared to pull a muscle that caused him significant pain.

The physio quickly attended him on the pitch and diagnosed what seemed to be a groin issue. Unable to continue, King walked off the field with the physio's assistance and got retired hurt.

Before walking off the field, King was in good form, as he raced to 23 runs off 13 balls and hit several impressive shots. His early retirement due to a suspected groin injury means he is unlikely to return in the ongoing match against England.

Earlier in the match, England was the toss and decided to bowl first, with Mark Wood making it into the playing XI and Chris Jordan missing out. On the other hand, for West Indies, Romario Shepherd is back and Roston Chase is also included in the playing XI.

Following King's departure, Nicholas Pooran came in to bat. As of now, Pooran and Johnson Charles are at the crease, with West Indies at 92-0 in 10.4 overs.
