This is Rishabh Pant for you. How many times have cricket fans heard it before? And they heard it again on Friday (June 20) when India and England faced each other in the first Test of the five-match series at Headingley, Lord’s.

Coming at No. 5, Pant pushed Ben Stokes towards to mid-on to play his first delivery of the day. Then, on the following delivery, he showed what he generally shows, charging down the ground to slam England captain effortlessly over his head.

The shot was so authoritative and gorgeous at the same time that even Stokes could not restrict himself from having a laugh at India’s swashbuckler’s audacity. More importantly, it was Pant's first assignment in red-ball cricket as a vice-captain. Watch the video to see what exactly happened.

Rishabh Pant Swings Hard On Test Vice-Captaincy Debut

Pant And Gill, India's captain and vice-captain respectively, were solid in the middle after Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul gave India a perfect start. However, Sai Sudharsan, India's new no. 3 who made his debut in Leeds, failed terribly, having gone for duck off Stokes.

It is important to note that India had lost the toss at Headingley, with Ben Stokes asking them to bat first. Hence, the start what the visitors got in a five-match series was nothing but spectacular, with Jaiswal making headlines in the major part of the innings.

At the time of writing this, India are 253/3 after 64 overs, with Pant batting on 12*. Gill, on the other hand, is on 82*, which was laced with 12 elegant boundaries. Jaiswal, earlier in the innings, departed after posting 101 runs on the board off 159 balls, which had 16 fours and one six.
