India is currently busy fighting against Australia in the fourth and crucial Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. They still need 250 runs to claim victory in this match but have unfortunately lost their three key batters in the blink of an eye.

However, in the previous innings, Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler for India in the Boxing Day Test against Australia, taking a crucial 5/57 to help bowl Australia out for 234. His efforts were vital as Australia, starting the day at 228/9 with a 333-run lead, continued to frustrate India with a gritty 57-run partnership between Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland.

Bumrah's Masterclass Vs Australia

Jasprit Bumrah, despite overstepping once and giving Lyon a lifeline, was relentless in his pursuit of wickets. He had the challenging task of breaking Australia’s resistance, particularly in the second innings where he had to work hard to dismiss debutant Sam Konstas and later deal with the remaining batters.

The pressure on Bumrah was immense as he spearheaded India's attack, constantly striving to break partnerships and keep Australia’s lead manageable. His performance was key in keeping India in the game, and understandably with so much pressure on him he must be exhausted.

In a video circulating online of Day 4, India's star performer is seen telling captain Rohit Sharma that he is done for the day. On the stump mic, Rohit is heard asking “Ek aur over dalega kya” to which a tired Bumrah responded by saying "Bus ab, Aur zor nahi lag raha."

Eventually, Bumrah completed a stunning five-wicket haul by removing Nathan Lyon on Day 5. This was his third five-wicket haul for India in this series. He has already picked up 30 wickets from just eight innings, and with one more Test left, he is guaranteed to shine bright in that game, too.

At the time of writing, India are at 93/3 and both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant are out in the middle.
