The fifth day of the India vs Australia Boxing Day Test was another tough one for Indian fans. Watching Virat Kohli go out for just 5 runs off 29 balls was pretty disheartening, especially with the team in a rough spot at 33-3. With that massive target of 333 looming over them, Kohli's early exit just piled on the pressure for an already struggling batting lineup.

Virat Kohli's dismissal came when he tentatively poked at a wide delivery from Mitchell Starc, and honestly, it felt like a gut punch to India's chances in this chase. As Kohli walked back to the pavilion, the disappointment was not only visible on the faces of the fans in the stands but also on those closest to him.

Anushka Sharma Heartbroken After Kohli's Early Departure

Virat Kohli's wife, Anushka Sharma, and KL Rahul’s wife, Athiya Shetty, were both caught on camera reacting with shock and disbelief. The two appeared visibly disappointed, covering their mouths with their hands as they watched Kohli walk off, a reflection of the immense pressure both the players and their families were feeling during such a high-stakes moment.

Anushka, who is often seen supporting Kohli from the stands, looked stunned by his early departure, as did Athiya, whose husband KL Rahul was also dismissed cheaply for a duck earlier in the match. Both women shared a moment of solidarity, as the weight of the situation seemed to affect them just as much as it did the players on the field.

Rahul, Virat's Departures Dash India's Hopes

Speaking of KL Rahul, the reliable batter for the series also departed early and his exit added to India’s struggles. Rahul, who had his good days during the series failed to make an impact, departing for a duck in the 17th over.

At the time of writing, after lunch, Rishabh Pant is trying to build up some resistance along with Yashasvi Jaiswal on the crease although chasing such a huge total ahead of the stumps now seems nothing short of a miracle.
