Abhishek Sharma smashed 66 runs Vs PBKS (iplt20)

In Match 69 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), Abhishek Sharma, the dynamic opener of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), grabbed headlines as he smashed 41 sixes in this season. He surpassed Virat Kohli's record of 38 sixes in a single season as an Indian player, set in 2016. 

In a remarkable display of aggressive batting, the Punjab-born cricketer propelled his team to a strong position despite losing his opening partner, Travis Head, on the very first ball of their innings. 

Taking charge, he scored a blistering 66 off just 28 balls, including five fours and six sixes, reaching his half-century in only 21 balls. For his explosive knock, he was awarded the Man of the Match against PBKS.

During this explosive innings, Abhishek surpassed his previous best season tally of 426 runs from the 2022 edition. 

So far in the IPL 2024, he has accumulated 467 runs from 13 innings, averaging 38.91 with an impressive strike rate of 209.41. His performance also includes 41 sixes, 35 fours, and three half-centuries, underscoring his critical role in SRH's batting lineup.
