Team India is facing some never-ending woes in the ongoing Test series against Australia. As the first day of the fifth Test match unfolded at the Sydney Cricket Ground, TeamIndia’s batting woes continued. Amidst this, another injury scare hit the India camp.

When Rishabh Pant stepped into bat, Indian fans were hoping for a secure hold on the game. But hope shattered after the batter faced a blow to his hand from a lethal delivery by Starc, leaving everyone on edge.

Pant’s Injury Scare

As the final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy is taking place in Sydney, Team India’s batting struggles remained the same. After Gill’s departure, Rishabh Pant walked in, and fans pinned their hopes on his explosive skills to turn things around.

But the scenario changed in the 35th over. In the third delivery of the over, Starc bowled a short-of-length delivery and Pant tried to push it forward. But the ball ended up hitting on his arms and sparked an injury scare.

Following the blow, Rishabh Pant received immediate treatment on the field as his hand quickly turned black with blood clotting in the affected area. Despite the injury scare, the Indian batter is still standing tall scoring 14 runs. That sudden hit sparked an injury scare in the Indian team, but also reminded fans of Cheteshwar Pujara, who used to take body blows more often than not.


India Still Struggling

After a humiliating defeat in the Melbourne Test, Team India aimed to bounce back in the Sydney Test to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But the planning went the wrong way. As Rohit Sharma opted out of this match, Bumrah led the team and decided to bat after winning the toss. While batting first, Team India faced early setbacks as KL Rahul walked away scoring only 4 runs.

The pressure mounted as Scott Boland dismissed Jaiswal for just 10 runs. After that, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli tried to continue an impactful partnership but that dream was dashed after Gill was dismissed for 20 runs. But the biggest disappointment was yet to come as Kohli’s struggle with the outside off stump remained the same as he departed scoring only 17 runs, Pant and Jadeja are looking forward to making an impactful partnership. After 40 overs, Team India is 81-4.
