Irrespective of formats, Mitchell Starc is one man whom Australia rely on most when it comes to taking wickets at the top, or cleaning up tails. The talismanic left-arm quick, who is playing the ongoing Sydney Test with stiff back concerns, delivered yet again on Friday during Australia's fifth and final Test against India.

On the other hand to make matters worse for India, it was KL Rahul, who was promoted to top of the order after Rohit Sharma's withdrawal from the final Test, who failed to leave his mark in the first innings of the all-important affair.

It was a full delivery by Starc that came to KL Rahul’s pad. The India opener tried to play an uppish shot to clear the short square leg, where Sam Konstas was placed. However, he failed to clear the fielder, making it a soft dismissal.

Konstas, who showed his naughty character on the field in the MCG Test, gave KL Rahul a dramatic send-off, mocking the batter with a gesture which indicated the ball did not go above his head.

India 2 Down, Almost 3!

Meanwhile, India have also lost Yashasvi Jaiswal, with Virat Kohli almost being gone for golden duck after an outrageous effort by Steve Smith. At the time of writing this, India are 18/2, with Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill in the middle, on 0* and 3* respectively.

Needless to say, India desperately need a win at Sydney to stay in WTC final contention.
