Jofra Archer was once again taken to the cleaners this IPL 2025 season, this time by Gujarat Titans’ rampaging batting unit in match number 47 at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium. After starting off with a tight over upfront with the new ball, Archer conceded 49 runs by the end of his four-over spell as Titans mounted 209-4 from 20 overs.
Notably, Archer’s latest spell marked one of the most expensive ones of his IPL career. Here, we take a look at three of his worst IPL spells so far.
Jofra Archer concedes 1-49 against Titans
Opening the bowling for the Rajasthan Royals alongside Maheesh Theekshana, Jofra Archer started off the match with a six-run over against Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. However, Archer was belted with a couple of boundaries in his second over inside the powerplay, one each from Gill and Sudharsan, as he finished his first two-over spell with 0-17.
Making his return in the death overs and taking the wicket of Rahul Tewatia, the Englishman took a heavy beating from Jos Buttler and Washington Sundar to claim expensive figures of 1-49, the third worst of his IPL career. Here is a look at three of Archer’s most expensive spells in IPL.
Most expensive spells for Jofra Archer in IPL:
Bowling figures | Opponent | Venue, IPL season |
0/76 | SRH | Hyderabad, 2025 |
0/56 | PBKS | Mohali, 2023 |
1/49 | GT | Jaipur, 2025 |
Notably, Jofra Archer has conceded two of his three most expensive IPL spells in the ongoing season itself. In an earlier game against SRH, the cricketer leaked 76 runs from his four overs in Hyderabad.
Nonetheless, his teammates Yudhvir Singh (0-38) and Wanindu Hasaranga (0-39) also leaked runs as Gujarat Titans mounted 209-4 from 20 overs. Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler struck splendid half-centuries for the visitors.
