The IPL 2026 auction season seems to have brought out the best of young Services cricketer Amit Shukla. Employing his wily left-arm spin against Haryana in the Elite Group C match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, the 22-year-old picked up sensational figures of 8-27 from his 20 overs.

Remarkably, Shukla picked up his first five wickets of the innings without even conceding a run before notching up his career-best first-class bowling figures.

Services cricketer Amit Shukla picked up career-best first-class figures of 8-27 from 20 overs, doing so against Haryana across Days 1 and 2 of their Elite Group C match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. The youngster’s bowling figures even read 5-0 at one stage, considering the cunning left-arm spinner picked up his first five wickets of the innings without conceding a run as Haryana folded up for just 111 in 43.2 overs.

Amit Shukla’s spell also helped Services gain a huge 94-run lead over Haryana at the halfway stage of the match. He also listed only his second five-wicket haul in first-class cricket, after previously listing figures of 7-65 since making his format debut back in November 2024 in Pune.

Last week against Gujarat in Nadiad, Amit Shukla claimed twin four-fers to snare a match haul of 8-159. Unfortunately for Services, the Gujarat team won the match by six wickets.

Nonetheless, with 23 wickets in just seven innings of the ongoing 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season, Amit Shukla has suddenly emerged as one of the more intriguing uncapped names ahead of next month’s IPL 2026 auction. Any franchise seeking a crafty, wicket-hungry left-arm spinner to bolster its spin arsenal may now find the Ayodhya-born cricketer impossible to overlook when the hammer goes down next month.
