According to emerging reports, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube have decided to skip Mumbai's upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Pondicherry. The star Indian players have confirmed their availability for the domestic white-ball matches, as they aim to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup on home soil.

SKY, Dube not to play Mumbai's next Ranji Trophy clash

As reported by Express Sports, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube have informed their unavailability to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the upcoming Ranji Trophy clash.

While Suryakumar has expressed his eagerness to participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to fine-tune his white-ball game ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup, Dube could be directly seen in the T20I series against South Africa.

“Yadav has informed MCA that he won’t be available and we have accepted his request as we feel that with the T20 World Cup around the corner he should concentrate more on it. He has informed us that he will be available for Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophy. As far as Dube is concerned, there is an upcoming T20I series against South Africa so he can prepare for the same. The selectors have picked Tanush Kotian and Mohit Awasthi for Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy game,” a MCA source was quoted as saying by Express Sports.

Recently, Suryakumar Yadav revealed that he would love to be back in India's ODI setup. This could be the reason why the Indian T20I captain considers plying his trade in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and presenting his case for an ODI recall before the 2027 World Cup.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy starts on December 24, while the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy commences on the 26th of this month.
