Chhattisgarh youngster and uncapped Indian cricketer Mayank Verma may well have catapulted himself on to the IPL 2026 auction radar through his latest batting blitzkrieg at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Nadaun. Batting at number six for his team against Himachal Pradesh, the 22-year-old bludgeoned 112 runs from just 154 balls with 11 fours and three cracking sixes in their Elite Group D match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.
The innings also marked Mayank Verma’s second successive century this tournament, after the youngster composed a regal 121* against Puducherry earlier this month.
Chhattisgarh youngster makes waves in IPL auction season
Chhattisgarh wicketkeeper-batter Mayank Verma continues to take rapid strikes in domestic cricket after making his return into the playing XI for his state team after a gap of nearly three years. In the space of just 10 days, the cricketer has now struck two centuries in two matches for Chhattisgarh, with the latest of them being a turbo-charged ton against Himachal Pradesh in Nadaun.
He brought up his century with a straight boundary off Akash Vasisht on Monday, November 17, i.e., on Day 2 of the match, thus reaching the landmark figure in 145 balls.

Just last week, Mayank Verma compiled 121* off 203 balls against Puducherry in Raipur as Chhattisgarh won the match by 10 wickets. The youngster fittingly won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for being the lone centurion of the three-day contest.
With the IPL 2026 auction now less than a month away, Mayank Verma’s timely surge in form could prompt several franchises to take a closer look at the uncapped youngster. If he continues to stack up impactful runs on the domestic circuit, the Chhattisgarh batter might just emerge as one of the more intriguing picks in this year’s auction pool.
