Highest T20 run-scorer in the last two years, it isn’t surprising to know that Nicholas Pooran is also the highest run-scorer in the ongoing 18th season of the Indian Premier League. In arguably the best form of his life, Pooran’s performances will be crucial to Lucknow Super Giants’ chances of qualifying for IPL 2025 playoffs.
That he has the highest T20 strike rate among the top five run-scorers in the last three years, Pooran is anticipated to continue achieving milestones in the near future. Three personal batting milestones which he is likely to achieve at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday are:
9,000 Runs In T20s
Having scored 8,930 runs at an average and strike rate of 29.47 and 150.08 respectively across 363 innings, Pooran needs 70 runs to complete 9,000 T20 runs. In doing so, he will become the 25th player to achieve this milestone.
Among West Indians, Pooran will join the likes of Chris Gayle (14,562), Kieron Pollard (13,537) and Andre Russell (9,025) in this club.
600 Fours In T20s
While scoring 70 runs could be challenging in this format especially at this venue, Pooran needs just a solitary shot to complete 600 fours in the format. Currently at 599, the left-handed batter will become the 63rd player to do so. As of now, he’s tied at 599 with Samit Patel.
300 Runs At The Ekana Cricket Stadium
In 17 T20 innings at this stadium, Pooran has scored 277 runs at an average and strike rate of 23.08 and 132.53 respectively. Yet to score a half-century at LSG’s home ground, Pooran needs 24 runs to become only the fourth batter to complete 300 runs here. Only KL Rahul (509), Ishan Kishan (337) and Marcus Stoinis (336) have the distinction of scoring 300 runs in T20s played at this ground till now.
