The JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi is a modernistic cricket venue built to resolve a dispute with Tata Steel over the allocation of international matches at the Keenan Stadium. Designed by Kothari Associates Pvt. Ltd., this stadium stands within the HEC premises, marking itself as the home ground of former Indian captain MS Dhoni.

The complex is celebrated for its unique construction, ensuring no shadow falls on its nine pitches before 4:45 pm, even on the shortest day. It has a massive seating capacity, equipped with modern facilities including 76 corporate boxes and views from the beautiful East and West Hills.

JSCA International Stadium Complex History

In the wake of a dispute over hosting international matches, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) embarked on a mission to construct its own international cricket stadium in Ranchi. The decision came after an international match slated for Jamshedpur was relocated, highlighting the need for a venue under JSCA's direct control.

Launched with a vision to develop cricket in Jharkhand, the stadium's design was entrusted to Delhi's Kothari Associates Pvt. Ltd. Officially opening its doors with an ODI match between India and England on January 19, 2013, the stadium has since become a cornerstone of cricket in the region.

JSCA International Stadium Complex Controversy

The conflict escalated when an international match was shifted from Jamshedpur to Bangalore, prompting the JSCA to establish a venue that would be under its direct control.
