DEL-W vs MUM-W: Toss Factor

The surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium assisted the spinners during IPL 2023. The pitches were on the slower side and run-scoring was difficult. However, the 2023 World Cup saw a belter of a track and batters enjoyed the ball come onto the bat.

Scenario: If Delhi Capitals win the toss

  •  The Capitals may look bat first. Having won two games while batting first, the Meg Lanning-led unit would be confident to defend totals.
  •  The overseas players are a must-pick.
  • Try to pick Shafali and a few Indian bowlers from Capitals.

Scenario: If Mumbai Indians win the toss

  •  The Mumbai side is comfortable in chasing totals and they should field first.
  • If Harmanpreet Kaur plays, try to pick their top five. Else, their top four in the batting order is mandatory.
  • Either Shabnim Ismail or Issy Wong (whoever plays) is an important pick.

Jess Jonassen (DEL-W): The Australian all-rounder is displaying a strong performance in WPL 2024. She has picked six wickets in two matches with as many three-fers and has also played cameos lower down the order.  Jonassen was the player of the match in the last game.

Meg Lanning (DEL-W): The former Aussie skipper showed her batting prowess in the last game. Having racked her second fifty in the ongoing edition, Meg Lanning produced some fine strokes that helped her switch gears despite a scratchy start. She has been leading the side from the front.

Scenario: If Mumbai Indians win the match

Amelia Kerr (MUM-W): The Kiwi all-rounder has been blowing hot with both bat and ball in hand. She is the joint-highest wicket-taker so far in the tournament with seven scalps from four matches. Kerr has also played some match-winning knocks with the bat, helping Mumbai extract three out of four wins.

Nat-Sciver Brunt (MUM-W): The English three-dimensional cricketer has taken the responsibility to lead the team in Harmanpreet Kaur's absence. She picked a couple of wickets in the last game and has the ability to graft the innings as well.

DEL-W vs MUM-W: High Risk, High Rewards

Shafali Verma (DEL-W): The opening batter has blown hot and cold in the tournament. Although she did not get a good start, Shafali Verma produced two aggressive knocks at the top of the order for the Capitals.

Yastika Bhatia (MUM-W): The wicketkeeper-batter has been in good touch in WPL 2024. She has been aiming to made use of the powerplay but will need to convert her knocks into bigger ones. Yastika is the Mumbai's leading run-getter with 121 runs from four innings.

DEL-W vs MUM-W: Stay Aways

Amanjot Kaur (MUM-W): The all-rounder is a very good cricketer but is not getting enough chances to showcase her potential. With a wide range of options already available, Amanjot is neither bowling nor getting enough balls to face.

Taniya Bhatia (DEL-W): The wicketkeeper is being used by Delhi for her primary skillset. In the last game, Delhi lost seven wickets and still Taniya was not sent in to bat. The management has been showing less faith on her batting skills and hence its better not to include her in fantasy team.
