Pakistan's all-format skipper Babar Azam skipped the cash-rich Global T20 2023 League and preferred Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023, where the star batter is dishing out runs by the buckets for Colombo Strikers.

Azam, who has established himself as one of the best in the world across the format, on Monday became the second-only batter to slam 10 T20 centuries after Chris Gayle. Chasing 189 at Pallekele, Azam struck a magnificent 104 for Strikers against Galle Titans, which helped his franchise win their second match of LPL 2023.

Amidst all the adulation, what caught the fans' attention was former Pakistan captain and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja's hilarious remark during the commentary encounter against Colombo and Galle. 

Raja, who is quite vocal in showing admiration for Azam, mentioned how the 1992 World Cup-winning player would marry the current Pakistan skipper.

Here's what Raja said

"Fifty in security, class, and quality, calmness. He is your guy in such a situation, in the back deep in the innings. I just absolutely love him - wanna marry him,"

After a poor debut in LPL 2023, Azam has stockpiled runs scoring 59, 41, and 104 in subsequent matches to become the leading run-scorer (211) in the tournament. 

With this win, the Strikers have moved third in the points table with four points and will play defending champions Jaffna Kings today evening.
